Tony Sparano should quit and Jim Caldwell should be fired
Tony Sparano had one really good season as the dolphins and then two average ones, before ownership decided they wanted to axe him in favor of Jim Hardbaugh. Arguably, the move to go out and get Jim to replace Tony is a good one. However, when you can’t get the job done it is terrible. The Dolphins then in a frantic move to shore up relations with its head coach gave him a two year extension which we know in football is just a fancy word for a financial security for when we eventually fire your ass. Now the Dolphins are 0-6 and every week Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen are getting asked so are the Dolphins going to fire Sparano this week? Well, I think Tony Sparano should pull the ultimate power move and tell the Dolphins where to stick and tell them that they can keep their dirty money. Then take the first analyst job he can find and just stick it to the Dolphins organization every week. Then, after the season is over get a head coaching job. Any of you who doubts Sparano will get a gig remember over his first three years with the dolphins he went 25-23. And, that is with playing the Jets and Patriots twice a year; no easy feat. In fact he could end up and arguably should in Indianapolis where I think they should fire…
Jim Caldwell. Yeah, he made it to a Super Bowl but anybody could have walked into that situation and got the Colts to the Super Bowl that year, the entire AFC was down that year. Remember the Bengals won the AFC North and Brady was coming back from his torn ACL. Truth is Jim Caldwell was in an excellent spot and then got out coached in the Super Bowl by Sean Payton. Then, he led the Colts to a very pedestrian 10-6 season for them before getting bounced in the first round by the Jets. Now he is 0-7. Sure Manning is gone but there is no reason why the Colts should lose at home to the Chiefs and Browns and then get embarrassed by the Saints like they did. That lose to the Saints was inexcusable and maybe it was the players fault, but they need a coach that can inspire them to play above their talent. Like Jim Hardbaugh is doing for the 49ers. Thus, I think Caldwell ought to get the boot because all he has proven is that he can coach an above average team with one of the best QBs of all time.
